Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be roasting coffee!
Learning to roast and learning to savour, sip, and slurp while cupping coffee was defiantly a new experience for us when we first started back in 2020. We knew we loved coffee, but this was a whole new experience!
I always say there is a romantic side to coffee. One that gets your senses exploring. It doesn't just come to you, and you think, wow, I taste all these specific flavour notes, just like the package suggests! It actually takes time and lots of consideration in your thinking and your knowledge of specific flavour notes plays a big roll as well.
We had a wine sommelier take some of our coffees and do his own tastings on them. This was such a fun experience for us because there is so many similarities about how grapes are grown and how they take on different flavour profiles just like coffee. He had a lot of fun with this as well! He told us, that he loves the "adventure", (yes that the word he chose) for experiencing the flavour notes himself, and for this particular reason, he chooses not to put the flavour notes on the wines themselves, but lets the customer experience this same adventure as they savour the flavour profile of the wines.
I love this, and if you ask me what the flavours notes are in our coffees, I will be happy to give you the basic ones for each roast, but we will let the coffee take you on an adventure that will leave your taste buds wanting more adventure!!
